Vulcans

Vulcans - Star Trek WikiVulcans are pointy-eared humanoids who have a tendency to follow a Vulcan named Surak's ideals: logic is everything. Surak made these guidelines because Vulcan emotions are very explosive when not reigned. They [Vulcans, not emotions] have a very interesting culture, and they have a little bit of telepathy. A very cool thing about Vulcans is that they have a "Vulcan Nerve Pinch". First seen on the TOS episode "The Enemy Within", it has the effect of knocking the person to whom the nerve pinch is administered to. Immediately. Also, Vulcan blood is green, because it is based on copper. Their hearts are gray for the same reason. Also, Vulcans have a little psychic ability, and are able to connect two minds together temporarily with a Mind-Meld.
The original Romulans, the Rihannsu, emigrated from Vulcan.

Spock, science officer on the original Star Ship Enterprise, was only half Vulcan. His father, the Vulcan side of his family, had once said that marrying Spock's human mother had "seemed to be the logical thing to do..."
Vulcan is located in the Alpha Quadrant. See: Geography
The only time they are not logical is around mating season Pon'Far.

Sarek made the guidelines? I thought this happened long before he came along.
